Press Release: Regional Care Group is leading the way for whole-person health

MERRILLVILLE, IN – Regional Health Systems, Geminus Corporation, and Lake Park Residential Care have been long-time partners, working together to provide whole-person health throughout Northwest Indiana and beyond. Today, this network takes another step forward as the organizations solidify their partnership as Regional Care Group. This partnership is Indiana’s largest and most comprehensive network of community-based health care and social services.

“Mental, physical, and social health are central to quality of life. Through Regional Care Group’s unique approach, our providers address all aspects of care for complete, whole-person health. With access to affordable, quality, integrated health care and social services, we help meet the many challenges faced in our communities,” says Bill Trowbridge, CEO of Regional Health Systems.

Nearly fifty years ago, the enterprise began as two local community mental health centers, providing outpatient behavioral health services. Over the years, the centers expanded services to cover substance abuse and residential treatment, and eventually united together as Regional Mental Health Center. Geminus Corporation, Northern Indiana’s largest nonprofit administrative service organization, began in 1992 to serve the administrative needs of these two community mental health centers.

In March 2014, Regional Health Systems opened the first Regional Health Clinic in Hammond, a federally qualified health center, which provides affordable medical and dental services to individuals of all ages, income, and logistical challenges.

Geminus continues to grow as it is critically recognized for administering social services in Northwest Indiana. The range of services includes Head Start, Early Head Start, child care resource and referral services, community-based programs focusing on child abuse prevention, domestic violence intervention, substance use prevention, case management, residential services, truancy prevention services, and more.

“Throughout the years, our core values—partnership, service, and community—have remained the driving forces for growth. We’re here to help individuals and families thrive, from early childhood to a healthy, old age,” says Trowbridge.

Today, Regional Care Group is now made up of 31 locations in communities throughout Northwest Indiana, with over 800 employees. The sunrise logo, representing hope, growth and new beginnings, that has grown to identify Regional Health Systems will be incorporated into the Regional Care Group branding.
